My first introduction to music technology was with an IBM XT and Scream Tracker making “Amiga Modules”, a hobby I kept doing until I finished high school. MIDI was also a major interest, and I’ve gone through a few keyboards until I settled on my Alesis QS-7. All the time, computer interaction was a focus.

After having studied computer science I began studying the recorder, and during my first year I was introduced to the world of Pure Data, then later on Max/MSP. I began writing lots of code for it, making my own externals in different languages and patching together interesting projects.

My third year at the conservatory I started teaching music technology and programming at Aalborg University, Esbjerg, in the Medialogy department. My plan was to do a PhD in recorder sound analysis, but the university never got the resources for the project, and I have since moved on to other jobs.

The summer 2007 I attended the International Computer Music Summer School at KTH in Stockholm, and shortly thereafter the International Computer Music Conference in Copenhagen that my PhD supervisor and other colleagues from AUE had organized.

Music technology remains a major interest, so expect more info in my blog about what I’m up to.
